Updated pics of my sisterlocks journey

First pic is actually a pic of me at four months sisterlocked. I actually kick myself everyday for not taking pictures of my installation and first couple months of being locked. I started off with two inches of hair after a big chop. It will be five years on July 10th since I have been sisterlocked!

No Problem, I am glad I inspired you like I was inspired years ago by other sisterlocked sisters. Good luck on your journey , just remember to enjoy every stage. Time flies when you are having fun.

Hi, Paula!
I’m glad to meet you. My name is Jessica Neriz, and I live in Houston, Texas. I’m 34 and still newly married (September 26th will be our 4th anniversary), with no children just yet. I’ve been admiring your lush, long Sisterlocks since the start of June this year. They inspired me to take the plunge and get my own Sisterlocks. My installation date was July 20-21, 2013. I’m enjoying them very much, and learning how to deal with keeping them clean despite my dry scalp. Like yourself, I’m also trying to incorporate more fresh, organic foods into my daily diet to have better overall health and energy, and have such health reflected in my own locs. I find this type hair management to be very convenient towards my busy lifestyle, and it’s a means to have my desire for long hair come to fruition ~ Yay!! I didn’t even know that Black hair could grow so long, as how other ethnic hair does. But it made sense that for us, there’s strength in our strands’ being bundled up in numbers, hence, the protective locs. In the near two months I’ve had mine, I’ve already noticed the extra bulk of non-shed hair, and gradual accumulated length as from when she first installed them. I would love to email a few pictures to you so that you can see, if you wouldn’t mind. Would it be ok if I got your personal e-mail address? I’m not able to upload pictures onto your blog ~ and you do have a great blog site. My e-mail address is jdbaker97@hotmail.com. I’m sorry, but I don’t keep a Facebook or Twitter account, just by personal choice.
I actually also wanted to get in touch with you because of something you mentioned on your very first blog back in June of 2010, which was both moving and introspective. It was about that judgemental Pastor who talked trash about locked hair, instead of about what he should have been discussing – that hypocrite! There was something else in particular that you said on that blog, that really caught my attention. Anyway, I’d love to hear from you, as I’ve never communicated with someone from beautiful St. Lucia ~ how international! Have a great day.
Sincerely, Jessica Neriz
